Something New

Eridan x Reader

{In which you are invited into a strange house, get an interesting meal and a visit}

The grey fish boy dragged you along the beach, each step seeming to zap away at the energy you had left. Step by exhausting step, you marched onward towards the boys home. You felt collapse begin to dawn on you just as a large ship like home came into few. “Alright, there it is, just a little further.” The boy encouraged you to keep moving. March, left, right, left, right; there you go, just a few more feet. Your strength was at its peak of disappearance when you were hurried inside and sat on a couch. You curled up, clamping your stomach to try and calm the hunger pains, to no avail. The fish boy simply stood there, starring at you in worry. “Is there anythin’ I can do to help?” He asks. Your voice was only that of a whisper as you mumbled out “f-food please.” The boy nods and walks off to another part of the ship. Minutes pass, the pain in your stomach begins to go to your chest, then your head, until you feel an ache through your body.

The boy finally returns, holding a spoon and a bowl containing a steaming substance. You tried to take it but end up almost spilling it along the floor. The fish boy sighs softly as he scoops up some of the food and brings the utensil to your open mouth. You slurp it down eagerly. You didn’t know what it was but it was amazing! A burst of flavors hit you, you wish you could have enjoyed it more but you were to hungry and tired to think about the taste of things. You took spoonful after spoonful from the grey boy until you were full and the bowl was empty. You gave him a soft smile as energy slowly made its way back into your muscles. He looked away from you and down at the floor, twiddling his thumbs. “Thank you… uhh” “Eridan, my name is Eridan, Eridan Ampora.” Your smile grew wider “Thank you so much, Eridan” “Yeah, wwhatevver.” he shrugged, a long pause of silence entered its self into your conversation until Eridan spoke up again. “So, howw did you actually get here?” You shrug “I already told you, I was sitting in my house, I hear someone knock at the door, I open it, a bird flies in and turns into a dude with a large coat and a mask. He offers me a new life away from my old one that sucked, and I took it, he sent me here. End of story” He rolled his eyes at your tale. “Alright, if you say so.” A new thought made it’s way into your head; you needed a place to stay. You sat up and looked at Eridan with a nervous smile. “Uhhh ok so, Eridan, I know we just met and all but, I really really REALLY need a place to stay, and I was wondering if MAYBE I could camp out here?” You questioned with an awkward grin. He looked you over for a few seconds, until he sighed, rolling his eyes. “Fine, but on one condition.” He said pointing one finger in your direction. “Name it” “You havve to do all the cleanin around here, I’m a busy troll so I could use some help.” You nod eagerly. “Can do mister Ampora!” You said, saluting him. He chuckled at your stupid behavior “So, wwhat are you?” He questioned. “I’m a human, from earth, which I’m guessing I’m not on anymore, am I correct?” “Yeas, this is Alternia, home of the trolls.” You muffled down the laughter that was in your throat, he wasn’t anything like the trolls that you had read about in books.

You smiled at him before he let out a huge yawn; you guess he must be tired if he stayed up all night helping you. “Tired there hot shot?” You chuckled out, giving him a playful smirk. “Wwell the sun has probably already risen, so you tell me” He replies with another sarcastic eye roll. You chuckle at him again, he was funny. “Got get some sleep, I promise not to break anything.” “You better not, landwweller, I’m watchin you.” With another yawn he walks out of the room, leaving you there with only your thoughts. Well, that’s how it seemed.

“Having fun so far?” You hear a voice call behind you. You jolted on the couch, spinning to face Don as he picked at his nails. “Jesus Christ! Don’t scare me like that!” You clutched your hammering chest, trying to regulate your breathing. A soft chuckle came from the masked boy, yes, you decided it would be a boy. “Well, what fun would it be to simply walk up and knock on the door, I’ve already done that one.” You rolled your eyes, do you have to put up with this ass? “How did you even get in here? Aren’t you afraid of Eridan catching you?” He turned to face you head on “Dear me, have you forgotten already? Hello, sorcery, I can go anywhere, anytime as I please. As for fish boy I can choose whether I want him to see me or not.” Right, the whole magic thing slipped your mind for a second. “Alright, I’m guessing there is a reason for you coming to see me?” He waved his hand around, as if swatting a fly. “Yes, I simply came to make sure you found your way here.” You gave him a quizzical look. “You… intended for me to meet Eridan?” “Well of course I did, what kind of pranking support character would I be if I did not plan this all out from the beginning.” He placed his hand to his chest in an insulted fashion. “Now you aren’t making sense, support character?” “Don’t fret about it, gives you wrinkles, and trust me, in this story you don’t want wrinkles.” The index fingers on both of your hands massaged your temples; this guy wasn’t making any sense. “Ok, let’s make it a rule that we don’t talk as if I am the star in a fairytale?” Another chuckle “I make no promises. At any rate, my presence has lingered here a little too long, remember to contact me if you need anything.” He got up and strode towards the door. “OH, and one other thing” Don said, turning to look at you, “you may want to change your sleep schedule to work nocturnally.” “Why?” “This is not your world. The Alternian sun is so bright and hot that it pains most trolls to be in it, they are tough as nails, now imagine would it would do to your poor human form.” You shivered at the thought of getting your skin burned, looking down at your feet. “Thanks.” But there was no reply. You looked up again to see that your companion had left.

‘Creepy bastard’ was your thought before you curled on the couch to get started on changing your sleep schedule.
I always get writers block when working with Eridan.
